How It All Began

It's crazy how God can take you on a detour with your life. I had my whole life planned out since ninth grade. I knew where I wanted to go and who I wanted to be. I began taking steps in the direction I wanted to go, however sometimes God has other plans that are not our own. In February of 2018, I met two members of Global Year (Alexis and Cody). Global Year is a missions organization that takes graduated seniors, and instead of going right off to college, sends them on a gap year to a foreign country. During the year, they take students and place them on one of their mission locations across the world. Through much prayer, I knew this is what the Lord has called me to do. I felt in my heart that God had been preparing me for this. Through my application process, I was accepted to go to Cape Verde, Africa. Where we will work in the community for nine months. The organization teaches students to make disciples of all nations and places the Great Commission as the highest priority. I know these nine months will make an eternal difference in my life and the lives of those I will be working with. I'm excited to see the Lord work. Join me on my journey in Cape Verde, Africa!
